Installation and maintenance of 3KW inverter
一. Preparations before Installation
1.Confirm the installation environment
Ventilation and heat dissipation: Choose a dry and well-ventilated location (such as a RV cabin or outdoor cabinet), away from heat sources (such as engines or direct sunlight), and ensure there is at least 10cm of heat dissipation space around the inverter to prevent malfunctions caused by overheating.
Shockproof fixation: When used outdoors, it should be fixed on a stable surface (such as screw fixation or cable binding) to prevent internal components from being damaged by jolting or shaking (especially suitable for vehicle and camping scenarios).
Waterproof and moisture-proof: If installed in an open-air environment, a waterproof casing should be used or an inverter with an IP protection rating (such as IP65) should be selected to prevent direct rain from entering.
2. Prepare accessories and tools
Essential accessories:
Battery pack: Prepare lead-acid batteries or lithium batteries of corresponding specifications according to the input voltage of the inverter (such as 12V/24V) (pay attention to the connection of positive and negative terminals).
Cable: Select copper core cables that are thick enough (the cross-sectional area should match the rated current of the inverter, refer to the manual) to reduce line losses.
Fuse/Circuit breaker: A fuse is connected in series between the battery and the inverter (the specification must meet the requirements of the inverter) to prevent short circuits and overloads.
Tools: Wrench, screwdriver, wire stripper, multimeter, etc.

二. Installation Steps (Taking On-board/Energy Storage Systems as an Example)
1. Connect the battery (Key step!)
Disconnect the power supply: Ensure that the battery is in a power-off state (if there are multiple batteries, disconnect the main switch first).
Positive and negative pole connection:
The red cable (positive terminal) of the inverter is connected to the positive terminal (+) of the battery, and the black cable (negative terminal) is connected to the negative terminal (-) of the battery.
If multiple batteries are connected in series, it is necessary to ensure that the total voltage is consistent with the input voltage of the inverter (for example, two 12V batteries connected in series form 24V).
Fixing cables: Press the cable joints tightly with terminals or wire lugs to prevent loosening and sparking, and wrap the interfaces with insulating tape.
2. Connect the load device
The AC output terminal: Connect household appliances (such as refrigerators and electric cookers) through the AC interface of the inverter to ensure that the total load power does not exceed the rated power of the inverter (3000W), and the peak start-up power does not exceed the surge power of the inverter (such as 6000W).
DC output terminal (if any) : Some inverters support USB or DC interfaces, which can directly power low-voltage devices such as mobile phones and LED lights.
3. Connect solar panels (optional, if combined with a photovoltaic system)
If the inverter supports MPPT/PWM charging function, the solar panel needs to be connected to the charging input terminal of the inverter through the controller. For specific steps, please refer to the manual.
4. Startup test
Connect the battery power supply, turn on the inverter switch, and observe whether the display screen shows normally (such as voltage, power, working mode).
Gradually connect the load and check whether the inverter outputs stably, and whether there are any abnormal noises, overheating or alarm prompts.
三. Installation Precautions
1. Safe electricity usage:
Avoid operating with power on. Be sure to disconnect the battery power during installation.
It is strictly prohibited to directly connect the inverter output terminal (AC port) to the municipal power grid, as this may cause short circuits or equipment damage.
2. Cable Specifications:
The cable length should be shortened as much as possible (especially the battery connection cable). If it is too long, it will cause excessive voltage drop and affect the performance of the inverter.
Select the wire diameter by referring to the current formula:
Current (A) = Power (W) ÷ Voltage (V). For example, when the input is 12V, the current of a 3000W load is approximately 250A, and copper core wires of ≥35mm² need to be used.
3. Grounding protection:
When installed outdoors in a fixed way, it is recommended to ground the metal casing of the inverter (such as connecting it to a grounding stake) to prevent the risk of electric leakage.

四. Daily Maintenance and Troubleshooting
1.Key points for daily maintenance
Cleaning and heat dissipation: Regularly wipe the dust on the surface of the inverter with a dry cloth to prevent the heat dissipation holes from being blocked (it is recommended to do this once a month).
Check the connection: Inspect whether the cable joints are loose or oxidized, and promptly remove the rust and tighten them (especially in damp outdoor environments).
Battery maintenance:
Lead-acid batteries: Regularly check the electrolyte level. If it is below the mark, add distilled water (not ordinary water).
Lithium batteries: Avoid overcharging and overdischarging. Keep the battery capacity at 50%-70% during long-term storage.
Functional test: Start the inverter without load every month and check whether the display screen, fan and alarm functions are normal.
2. Common Faults and Solutions
| Fault phenomenon | Possible reasons | Solution measures |
| The inverter doesn't start | Insufficient battery power/connection error | Charge or check the connection between the positive and negative terminals |
| Frequent alarm and shutdown | Overload/Short circuit | Reduce the load or check if the lines are damaged |
| The output voltage is unstable | The battery voltage is too low/the cable is aged | Charge or replace the thick cable |
| Abnormal heat/odor | Poor heat dissipation/component damage | Clean the heat dissipation holes or contact after-sales service for maintenance |
| The fan doesn't rotate. | Fan failure/temperature not up to standard | Check the fan power supply or wait for the temperature to rise to trigger cooling |
3. Long-term storage suggestions
Disconnect the battery connection to prevent the inverter from consuming power in standby mode.
Store in a dry and cool place. Power on once every three months (run without load for 10 minutes) to prevent the capacitor from aging.
五. Safety Warnings
1.Non-professionals are requested not to disassemble the internal circuit of the inverter to avoid electric shock or damage to the equipment.
2. Keep children away from the inverter and battery to prevent accidental contact or swallowing of small parts.
3.When used outdoors, lightning protection measures should be taken during thunderstorms (such as staying away from tall trees and using lightning sockets).
Through the above steps and maintenance methods, it can be ensured that the 3KW inverter operates stably in outdoor scenarios and extend the equipment's lifespan.
